Paws-itively Fun

So tag I went with this cute dog from hey diddle. I colored him with my copics first . Next I cut  him out . I made my tag from my cricut machine . I wanted to use some texture  on the tag so I went with burlap, which I cut out in a square. I glues it on then added the sentiment which I  think if I remember right is a  g studio stamp. I also added a border on the bottom. Well enjoy.

Happy Moo Year!

For the second time this month I used the Cow over the Moon digi stamp. I created a card by combining that stamp which can be found here with the fireworks digi stamp which can be found in the Patriotic Duck Stamp 2 collection here to create this New Years card.  I used my Gimp 2 free program to digitally color these stamps, which is a first for me, and also used markers to enhance them slightly. I used a glue pen and embossing powder to create the silver sentiment.  I printed my image twice so that I could use foam tape to pop up the cow and star.  I added a few glitter felt stars left over from my last project to add a bit more sparkle. I wish everyone the happiest of 'moo' years!

5 LITTLE GINGERBREAD MEN

Well sadly this is very probably the last Christmas card I'll get to make this year, I really enjoyed making this little 5"x5" card using Amanda's Gingerbread men digi (available free with this months news letter) and one of the papers from her lovely  GINGERBREAD PAPER PACK.

After overlaying the gingerbread men on the backing paper I printed out the whole card and cut away most of the card from behind of the gingerbread men, I then cut the bottom of the card with decorative edged scissors and overlayed it onto a strip of bright red Mirri card.
Inside the card I added a strip of bright green paper and edged it with gold peel offs so that it backed the gingermen.

The "Merry Christmas" sentiment was made using an art package, I cut it out and added it to the card using foam pads then went over the letters, eyes and buttons with clear Sukura to make them glossy!
I hope you like it.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Warm Winter Wishes Owl Shaker

For this project you will need:
Card Stock to print out Digital stamps and paper
Acetate
foam board
chunky glitter
wired ribbon and Metallic DMC
Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer
BIC Mark-Its

I printed all of my papers on white card stock using AJs Digi Shoppe Gingerbread Paper Pack.  Made frames by stacking papers in Publisher giving the illusion of matting but it's all on one piece of paper. I printed one square of paper with dots on one side and solid green on the other to create the Tree elements using this pattern. The Tag Sentiment was created doing the same layering in Publisher to make mock frames. I printed out the Christmas Owls and colored them with BIC Mark-Its, adding glitter to their hats to mimic snow.
I created a shaker box by cutting out the window of the frame and inserting Acetate for a window glaze. I adhered the acetate and the strips of foam board to the frame with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer.I piled a layer of chunky glitter in the scene before sealing the frame to the card.
I attached a wired bow with a small tag to the front to complete the card!
Thank you for looking! I hope you enjoyed my shaker card!

Goody Goody Gum Drop

So today I picked this cute gingerbread man cause I used to collect them and I still love them . I colored him with my copics and then used some puffy paint to go along his feet and neck and arm to look like real frosting . I then added some bigger flaked glitter to look like sugar. He would not be complete without his cute wiggly eyes I had to add. He reminds me of gingy from shrek lol. Thanks Amanda for creating cute digis.

Moon & Stars Ornaments

I like to add a few new ornaments to my Christmas Tree every year.  This year I have been feeling less than energetic so I made very simple ornaments using A.J.'s Digi Shoppe's Cow over the moon digi stamp (minus the cow) as the template.  You can find digi's from the 'Hey Diddle Diddle' collection here.  I printed the stamp onto regular cardstock then cut out the images and traced around them onto some stiff, glittery felt I found at my local Dollarstore.  I glued the stars onto the moons and used some wrapping cord from the Dollarstore as a hanger. This is very simple and could be done by children and yet the finished effect is quite pretty and will be a nice addition to our tree this year.

SEASONS GREETINGS GINGERBREAD MAN

Well it's nearly that time of year again and I'm still making cards to send out as I go along, you would think by now I'd have got into the habit of making my cards earlier on in the year - but NO!!
I just love these new GINGERBREAD PAPERS from Amanda they are so crisp and clean looking and make a wonderful background to her FREEBIE Gingerbread man Digi (just sign up for her December news letter to receive him)

I coloured him digitally and used little dimensional eyes that move when you shake the card and added Glossy accents to his buttons, the 3 little punched red dots and the holly berries.

I really like this little 6"x6" simple but effective card and hope you do too.

Christmas Duck Tag with Gingerbread Papers

To make this project:
BIC Mark-Its
Ribbon, Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer [as adhesive]
large laminate sample

Good morning! As I gear up for the holidays, I am handmaking many items from gift wrap and tags, to presents and ornaments. For my presents to neighbors and teachers, I am including a gift tag that also doubles as an ornament. This tag was constructed on a large laminate sample acquired at a home improvement store. I adhered digi papers to it with Crystal Lacquer. I then layered on this delightful Christmas Duck. On the back I added a layer with a holiday sentiment and a place to write who the present was to and from. I sanded the edges with a file to insure it was smooth and added ribbon through the hole in the sample. Ribbon can be replaced with an ornament hanger to place on a tree.
Thank you for looking! I hope you enjoyed my tag!

Recipe for Holiday Wishes

the recipes slip right into the pocket

I often have requests for my recipes so I decided to give out recipes as 'gifts' this year.  I created a very simple card using A.J.'s Digi Gingerbread Paper, which you can find here.  I made a pocket on the bottom of the card large enough to hold a few recipe cards and used a couple of acrylic stamps to make the sentiment plaque.  I distressed the recipe cards to give them a homey feel and bundled them with a nice shiny ribbon.

PA RUM PUM PUM PUM DUCK

I've been wanting to use Amanda's little drummer DUCK for some time and thought he'd make the perfect "Drummer Boy" for a Christmas card.

The background paper was just text taken from the song printed onto a dull green sheet of paper.
The background to the duck was printed off and matted with red card and the duck himself was coloured digitally cut out and mounted on foam pads, I then added some gold highlights on his hat, drum and drumsticks using gold foiling. added a couple of feathers to his hat and topped it off with a little gold emblem with a red gem.
I hope you like him!

Owl Be Home For Christmas

I have to say I love this card because of the color combo I love browns with dark deep reds and dark deep green so lovely together. I hope you all agree. I used Amanda's cute owl digi and colored him or her whatever you want this owl to be . Next I then glossy accented  the eyes and added black diamond stickles too. LOL I had to use a pom pom for  the hat to pull it all together and the owl was made . Then I worked on the base of the card, which I cut out on my awesome cricut . I put the owl on the card and added some ribbon and a cute flower from Michael's. The sentiment is from pink design 's Christmas set from last year. I hope you have and great day and have enjoyed my card . Thanks for stopping by. Oh yes I lot of bling was put on lol.

FROM HOME TO HOME

Well not long until Christmas now and so I'd better get a start on my cards.
I know I'm leaving it a bit late especially as a lot of crafters made theirs back in August, but I always seem to leave it to the last minute. (I do tend to procrastinate)

I do love this little OWL by Amanda and decided to make an easel card to show him off!
I kept the colours traditional and coloured the owl the same. Cute isn't he!
I hope you like it.

Grrrrr Means I love You

Well here I go again making another cute  monster  lol . Got to love these monsters. First I colored my monster. Next I made the card base and layers from my new e2 cricut machine. Last but least added some ribbon from Michael's and a orange button. The sentiment is from crafty sprouts. I hope you all love my birthday monster . Thanks  for  stopping by.

Boo !!

Well it's almost Halloween again, so what else would I make but another Halloween card!
I really enjoyed making this 7"x5" card using Amanda's Digi orange Web Background and
Mrs. Frankenstein Digi.

I matted the background onto black card then went over the whole of the web with a glitter Sakura (which sadly doesn't show up in this photo) I added a web peel off in the top right hand corner then coloured over a piece of white card with various Promakers in autumn colours, punched out some small leaves then added them with glue and foam pads around the edge of the card.
The Owl image was coloured with Promarkers and postioned with foam pads as was the plastic spider and finished off the card with the "Boo" peel off!

I hope you like it!

For my second A.J.'s Digi Shoppe design team submission this month, I tore myself away from Amanda's adorable Halloween designs and made a Christmas card.  I think this Christmas Owl is very cute and he looks so cozy in his scarf and toque (that is winter hat, for all you non-Canadians out there.)  Find Owls here. I also used Amanda's Let it Snow/Snowflakes Freebie which is available here.

Monster Bash!

These super little MONSTER DIGI'S from Amanda are SO cute!
I decided to take the "Monster Bash" sign (also from Amanda's "Monster" range)  quite literally and show them after they've all have a bit of a scrap! Isn't that just what those rascally little monsters often do? Always fighting amongst themselves! Looks like none of them got off scott free!

I made a black "step Up" card and added the torn orange paper then drew in some orange shapes using an orange glitter pen. I then just added the little monsters and various coloured metal stickers.

I hope you like it!

Monster Hair Bow Clips!!!

At last we're in October and I'm gearing up for the fall holidays not only in my household decorating and but also in my accessorizing for our wardrobes. Both of my kids are big fans of AJ's Digi Shoppe and of course they loved the new release of Monsters this month. When I saw them, I knew I wanted to play with felt again! I had Sam pick out a favorite monster--this was very difficult because really she loves them all!  She settled on the one that looks like Candy Corn.
For this project you will need:
felt
embroidery floss
needle
googly eyes
glue
ribbon
clip
I sized him to about 1¾" wide. I used that for a pattern to trace onto white, yellow and orange felt. I outlined the facial features with 2ply purple embroidery floss, added the googly eyes and hot-glued him onto a small tails-down bow that I created out of a pretty plaid ribbon  I had. The bow was hot-glued onto an alligator style clip--taking care to make sure they were glued in opposite directs to be worn on opposite sides of the head.
Sam LOVES them! I hope you also enjoy them! Thank you for looking!

OWH - Christmas Blog Hop

I have had many good friends and family who have served our country.  One of my dearest friends told me while serving in Iraq one his greatest joys was getting cards from Operation Write Home (besides care packages from home) so he could send cards home.  I am happy to make cards to help our service men and women stay in touch with their families.  They miss so many milestones and if I can help a father or mother stay in touch with their children because they our serving to protect my family - making cards is the least I can do.

Tangled Turtle Door Decoration

As September winds down I try to make decorations for Halloween that I can enjoy the whole month. Amanda has created the cutest Halloween digis and the turtles are definitely my favorite. A few weeks ago I demonstrated on my live show zentangling in the Turtle Witch and decided that she would make a really cute sign for the front door. You can watch the entire leslierahye's crafty gig on zentangling to see how to start this.
I printed the Turtle Witch as a 5×7" image and used my Staedtler pens to tangle her. Then I colored her with the Sakura Hobby Craft 3D Colored Lacquers. I printed off a sign for my door--"The Witch is in...come sit a SPELL." and printed that out on cardstock. I printed out some of Amanda's digi paper to glue onto a piece of chipboard to make a sign backing. I added inks and paint, layered the image and saying with popdots and attached a ribbon to hang the sign with.
I love how she turned out! I think my visitors and my children will be amused with our Tangled Turtle Door Decor!

Halloween Owl Close Up Card

Halloween is on the way once again so I decided to use Amanda's wonderful OWLS to make another Halloween card.
Halloween and Christmas cards are my favourite cards to make.

After printing the owls out onto card I coloured them using Promarkers and added glitter to the eyes, cloak and collar of the owls.

The BACKGROUND PAPER was cut to size edged with a black ink pad to make it darker and added it to the black 5"X5" card, finally I foam mounted the owls and sentiment.

Thank you for looking.

Trick or Treat Ghosty

It is no secret that I ADORE Halloween and Amanda has created these AMAZING spiderweb papers and these adorable Turtle Halloween digis! This ghosty turtle is probably my favorite!
To create the background, I pieced my papers in Microsoft Publisher. I began with all three solid colors with light spiderwebs on them--orange green and purple. I created the orange base by re-sizing the orange paper to 5×5in.
Next I made each of the purple and orange 4-3/4" square and then cropped them in half. I layered them on the orange so that they fit evenly and the purple and green stacked.
Next I cropped down a piece of the striped paper to just have the few stripes between the green to make a "strip" of striped paper to layer on top of the background.
Once I was happy with this, I still had room to work on my Publisher page. I sized my ghosty digi and made two of him--just in case--and made a small sentiment that matched the color of the papers that I was using.
As I LOVE the look of white prismacolor on kraft, I chose to print my page out on Kraft cardstock and trim out my background page and sentiment. I colored my ghosty with the white prisma color and the metallic Sakura colors and clear for his eyes. I attached a beautiful swiss dot organza bow with ribbon from Crafty Ribbons and layered everything with foam tape and mounted it on a black piece of cardstock to make an easy card.
Thank you for looking! I hope you enjoyed my card!

Not Finished Folder

12 inch x 18 inch Folder  I made for Works In Progress

I created a folder for my 'works in progress' from the front and back cover of a dollar store children's scrapbook.  I used several Deco Arts paints mixed with Deco Arts Blush and Blend extender and Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist in perfect pearl to create my background. I used Amanda Marks' adorable caterpillar and the very realistic mushroom from her A.J.'s Digi Shoppe Bugs collection which are available here.  I drew the large flowers myself and colored the stamps and my flowers with school grade Buffalo watercolor paints and Stabilo Funcolor pencils.  I used Elmer's Rubber Cement as a masking agent  for the swirls on the mushroom cap.  I used a scrap of K and Company Paper and Bic Mark Its to make the banner and added dollar store 3D stickers as embellishment.  I used Elmer's Craft Bond Spray Adhesive to afix all of my paper elements to my folder, and held the folder together with Reflectix Metal Tape, covered with dollar store ribbon.

SOAR! with Mama Owl

I just love these digi papers and stamps that Amanda has released! The Leaf Paper Pack was released earlier this summer and has the awesome leafed branch papers as well as matching background papers!

The Owls Set--an August Release--has Owls to celebrate all sorts of seasons but my favorite is the Mama Owl with her hatching eggs...it makes me think of baby birds flying the nest, soaring. I think it is perfect for back to school as our little hatch-lings fly the nest to go to school!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoy my card.

Recipe for Soar!
Ingredients
AJ's Digital Stamps: Mama Owl & Leaves Paper Pack
Card stock: Bazzill Basics Kraft
Markers: BIC Mark-Its
Accessories: Foam Squares, Silk Flowers, Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer, Beacon 3-n-1 Craft Glue, Tim Holtz Hardware and ticket, Peeled Paint Stain and Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.

Directions
  1. Print Mama Owl at 3½" wide on white card stock
  2. Print Green leafs paper at 5" wide on Kraft card stock--placing at the top left or bottom left of page depending on where you want the card to fold [I chose dark branches on top]
  3. Color Mama Owl with BIC Mark-its
  4. Trim out card base to 5×10" so that the card folds at 5" along the edge of the printed leafy paper
  5. Add Peeled Paint Stain and Burlap Distressed Ink to edges of trimmed card
  6. Trim out Mama Owl and attached to card base with foam squares.
  7. Attach flowers with Beacon 3-n-1. Attach stained Tim Holtz ticket and hardware to card.
  8. Make 3D owl eyes by adding Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer to centers of owl eyes.

SPOOKY OWL-AWEEN

Yes I know it's still only August but it's never too early to make a head start on your Halloween cards, I always have fun making them.
I picked the paper I wanted to use first so I was able to colour the owls to match.
Amanda's Mr & Mrs Frankenstein Owl Digi Stamps are so cool and were great fun to colour, you can find them HERE with many others.
