Happy New Year! With Freebies

It is 2014 and a fresh start for the Digi Shoppe.  This year I plan to be a tad more organized and concentrate even more on the Digi Shoppe.  I have been thinking of ways to improve the Digi Shoppe and one of the ways I thought of was a theme every month.

What has changed:
  • The first of each month I will release a new theme in our monthly Newsletter.
  • Each Monday I will release three to four stamps from the collection.
  • The last day of every month the complete set will be available to purchase on the website.
  • The Freebie Fridays will be associated (for the most part) with that months theme.
  • More photos and blog posts featuring projects using our products (i.e. my children may actually age in scrapbook years)
  • More activity on Pinterest, Facebook, and Twitter
  • I am also looking at doing more Giveaways this year
What has not changed:
  • There will be a special freebie or two in the monthly Newsletter
  • There will still be Freebie Fridays posted every Friday

I am very excited for the new year and I can not wait to see what 2014 has in store for the Digi Shoppe.  With that I leave you with a couple of Freebies to celebrate 2014.

Today's Freebies features the 2014 Pantone Color of the Year Radiant Orchid - Happy New Year!

Freebie Friday - Gerbera Daisy

I love Gerbera Daises, actually I love ALL daisies.  As a child I would pick my neighbor's daisies and would paint and draw them.  She said she never realized until I went off to college how many daisies I actually picked.

My favorite were her orange and pink Gerbera Daisies, I would mix them with Shasta Daisies and give the bouquet to my grandma once I was finished.  When I had knee surgery in high school Angie picked all her orange Gerbera Daisies for me and the gift also included Micron Pens and a sketchbook.  I sketched those daisies for days.  This week I managed to sprain my knee (the same knee I had surgery on) so I have been laid up all week.  I decided to pull out my Micron Pens and start sketching.  Once I sketched the daisy I brought it into Photoshop and practiced my digital painting.  I am extremely pleased with how it turned out and expect to see a lot more pen and ink drawing style digis in the future.

Don't forget to check out our Facebook Page and sign up for our Newsletter that comes out April 1st!  My goal for April is to start posting and utilizing the Facebook page more and do the Monday Release again.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!

Freebie Friday - Bunny

Easter is closing in fast and I decided to tackle another home improvement project.  I'm not sure why I am concentrating so much on my home recently maybe it is because I have seen all the imperfections for 5 years and I am tired of it.  I ripped out my ugly, poorly installed, crooked (very crooked) kitchen back splash and am installing a new one.  This backsplash isn't your run of the mill glass tile backsplash it consists of pennies, beer bottles and left over glass tile from my bathroom.  I am very pleased with the progress and can not wait to finish it.  I am also wondering what the bank teller is going to say when we go in and buy $30 worth of pennies.

Hopefully this weekend I will get some more digis created and Easter Projects done.  I have high hope and it is suppose to be raining here so I have a vast check list.

Happy Spring and Weekend Everyone :)

Freebie Friday - Green Beer

St. Patrick's Day is next weekend and to celebrate I created "Green Beer!"  I personally have never drank green beer but I have seen many people drink green beer.  Hard to believe I live in a city where one of the largest St. Patrick's Day Celebrations is held.  Maybe this year I will actually get around to hoisting a mug with some green beer in it.

I am still trying to get everything back in order from the bathroom renovation.  I hope to have that done this weekend so I can back to creating more digis.  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Freebie Friday - Football

The Superbowl is this weekend and if you are like me you do not have a horse in the race this year.  I do love football but I could really care less who wins this year (sorry bitter Packers Fan here).  Anyways in honor of this grand tradition I drew the Football Trophy (not sure the Copyrights on Lombardi Trophy so I named it Football Trophy).

My husband and I go to a Superbowl Party every year and eat copious amounts of Chili I personally cannot wait to eat my friends chili (he only makes it once a year for Superbowl).  I am making my Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes but am going to attempt them Gluten Free (I really hope they turn out, fingers crossed).

Don't forget today was Newsletter Day!  The first of every month I release a Newsletter featuring a new unreleased digital stamp set or paper pack.  I also offer a free unreleased digital stamp with the Newsletter (this month stamp is in honor of Donald Driver who retired yesterday).  If you missed our Newsletter visit our Facebook Page for the link to our Newsletter (of course we love New Fans!)

Freebie Friday - Cupid

I have really been trying to complete some Valentine's Day Items but I have been unsuccessful with that endeavor.  I think my real problem is I don't like Valentine's Day and never have.  My joy on Valentine's Day is watching Documentaries about the St. Valentine's Day Massacre (sad and a little twisted, I know).  I guess I have never been one for red, pink and hearts.  When I was my daughter's age I loved it I thought it was wonderful you got candy in school.  Then I got to middle school and high school where everyone tries to out do everyone, balloons. flowers, chocolates delivered right to the classroom.  As you probably gathered I was never one of those that had anything delivered to me.  I then started working at a hotel where every Valentine's Day they served a romantic dinner, you would have to stand at the desk and watch the couple ogle at each other during dinner.  Even my husband and I have never really done the whole Valentine's Day Thing.  He works in news and I worked at a hotel neither industry ever sleeps so we never did anything.  Now that we have children I would settle for a glass of wine with no yelling (that would be a spectacular Valentine's Day Gift - lol.)  I do hope everyone enjoys my little cupid he actually resembles my husbands childhood photos with the curly blonde hair.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 1

I have had the 12 Days of Christmas idea for close to a year now, but I never knew how to put it together, until this week.  I decided to scrap all the traditional thinking about how to do the days and make it my own.  I thought the Monsters would be the perfect for the 12 Days of Christmas!

I am going to offer each digi for 24 hours and then I will pull them.  After the 12 Days are over the set will be available for purchase in the Digi Shoppe.

Freebie Friday - An Alien For Christmas

We listen to some pretty non-traditional Christmas songs in our house this time of year.  The Star Wars Christmas Album (yes it does exist), Banjo music, Charlie Brown, Dogs Barking Jingle Bells, the Nutcracker and a hodge podge that my husband downloaded years ago when Napster was big.  One of the "hodge podge" Christmas CDs we listen to has a song called, "I Want An Alien For Christmas" it is by Fountains of Wayne.  It is a funny song, very catchy and Booga LOVES it, last year he would dance and scream "I WANT ALIEN!"

I am not quite in the holiday spirit yet, I am sure after this weekend I will be, we are decorating this weekend.  I did have my first Peppermint Hershey's Kiss which did help move me towards that Christmas Spirit.

Freebie Friday - Thankful Word Art

It is November  (WHAT!?!?!?)  If you are like me you are trying to figure out where the past 10 months have gone.  October flew like always and I am preparing for my daughter's huge Birthday Party Saturday.  I created this word art for the Thanksgiving Digital Paper Pack that was released in the Newsletter, I enjoyed it so much I wanted to share it with everyone.  November the start of the holiday season and copious amounts of turkey, pumpkin pie, spending time with friends and family screaming at the football game on TV (if you think that last bit I am making up, you have never heard me watch a football game before - lol).

I hope everyone takes time to reflect on what they are thankful for this holiday season.  Right now I will be thankful after my daughter's 7th birthday party on Saturday.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!  Don't forget Monday a new (very fun) release!

Progress!

If you have been following this blog for any amount of time you will know I usually only post on Fridays.  I am hoping to get to a point in my busy schedule to start posting on a regular basis.  I had always intended to blog at least three times a week on this blog.  I quickly realized juggling two blogs, running a digi shoppe, graphic design/design team obligations, answering a reservations line and being a mom it wasn't going to happen.  I decided instead of going out for other design teams I need to concentrate on my own shop.

I have tried to keep up with Freebie Fridays which surprisingly, I was doing good until I redid the Shoppe.  I admit I have neglected the blog and the shop at points this year.  I have always managed to type a newsletter every month and have a new line of papers or stamps to introduce (still amazed by that).

I have returned to the Digi Shoppe with grand plans.  It started with the complete redesign of the Digi Shoppe which I am happy to report is 90% finished.  My idea is to feature a new release either a stamp or a paper pack on Mondays.  I plan to keep the Freebie Fridays because I really enjoy doing them.

I am really excited on this new chapter of the Digi Shoppe from the rebranding to the designing.  I am having so much fun sketching again.  I have lots of new digis I hope to have completely finished by the end of the week.

I do want to introduce the newest paper pack Bones:

Don't forget to come back Friday for another Freebie Friday!

New Design with a Freebie Friday!

First I want to apologize for missing two Freebie Fridays, September has been so crazy!  I also decided I really wanted to redesign the Digi Shoppe after several months of planning I have finally settled on a new design.  With this new design means I have a ton of work ahead of me rebranding everything.  I know this will not happen overnight and will take so time but I am really pleased with the progress so far.

Why the "rebranding?"  I love my monsters but I feel that in order to move forward I needed a more all encompassing look.  I love to do pen and ink sketches that I want to turn into digital stamps but the old design I felt it inhibited my abilities to create items such as that.  The monsters are in no means going away I love my monsters they won't be displayed as prominently as before.

I started with the Digital Papers section (because that area needed some serious help) and am making my way through everything at what seems to be a snail's pace.  I am also becoming quite active on the Digi Shoppe Facebook Page.  I am really enjoying everything and have been feeling extremely creative.

October 6th is World Card Making Day and I am participating in the Odd Show Live all day card making extravaganza.  To check out all the information for World Card Making Day, please visit The Odd Show Live Facebook Page.

Am am also working on items for my daughter's Tie Dye Birthday Party and Created these papers especially for the invitations (which I will be making on Saturday for World Card Making Day).

I hope everyone checks out the new look.  I also plan on posting more on the blog and on the Facebook Page.  If you see an item on the Facebook Page that is not on the site yet, let me know.

Freebie Friday - Tie Dye Paper

While we were on our family vacation last month we had a tie dye party at my cousins house.  One of my shirts turned out so fantastic I had to create paper with it.  I am also experimenting with how I want to set up the paper packs.  I want to show the full sheet so everyone can see the paper but you don't get to see the details so more experimentation is needed.

I hope everyone likes the freebie set this week!

Freebie Saturday - Remembering a Hero

I am a day late and was going to do a double post on Friday because we have been extremely busy since returning from vacation.  I was deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Neil Armstrong, a true hero.  He inspired and taught so many people to dream.  I created this digi when the last space shuttle was launched.  I am offering it for a limited time in honor of Mr. Neil Armstrong.
